OCAC Art In The Libraries Program

Denise, Judi, Andrew Bellomo

A long term goal of Ontario County Arts Council is to bring visual arts into our Ontario County communities. One way to accomplish that is to provide visual arts experiences at our local libraries. In 2015 and again in 2016 we worked with two of our smaller local facilities, the Bristol Library on County Road 32 in Bristol and the Bloomfield Public Library on Church Street in East Bloomfield. Some of our artist members provide art classes and programs to the local libraries.

In the fall of 2015, OCAC provided funds for an art display system to be installed at the Bloomfield Library in their entrance hall and in their Community Room. In 2013 OCAC did the same for the Bristol Library, installing a display corner above their public computer area. In June of 2016, OCAC provided a grant to the Victor Farmington Library to purchase an art display system that was hung on the walls of their library. Member artists were given the opportunity to start exhibiting their artwork at Victor in July of 2016. OCAC member artists and other local artists are scheduled to display artwork at these locations. An OCAC grant for the Wood Library in Canandaigua is under consideration for 2017.
